This story practically began to write itself. It was now the year, 2013 and the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. Which was also one of the most significant battles of the Civil War. A History of Western Hills Church of Christ shares a story of how the Church of Christ developed in Texas, Bell County, and eventually in Temple, Texas. Matthew Stephen has a great interest in the health of the local church. This project was inspired by a desire to better understand our local church's history to help us better steward its future. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, his curiosity led him to inquire how churches responded to the 1918-1919 pandemic flu.
